Chorus Background
The Northwest Sound
Men's Chorus is the premier barbershop chorus in the Pacific Northwest. Chartered by BHS in 1985, Northwest Sound was founded to offer a demanding and challenging musical experience with a commitment to excellence. In both competition and public performance, the chorus always strives to be its very best, with members that put forth the time and effort necessary so everyone can enjoy the result.
Winners of the 1986, 1988, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1994, and 2005 Evergreen District Chorus Championships, Northwest Sound represented the Pacific Northwest at the International Barbershop Chorus Contests in 1987, 1989, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1995 and 2006. Northwest Sound placed as high as ninth in both the 1992 (New Orleans) and 1993 (Calgary) International Conventions.
In 2005, Northwest Sound won the Evergreen District Chorus Championships, which included competitors from five states and two Canadian provinces. This gave them the opportunity to compete at the International Convention earning the title of 20th best in the world!
The chorus will be going back to the International stage
